Hi Miranda,
acting is your forte but I know your have a passion for song writing & singing, so it will be good to hear about those. Hey there! Thank you for the interview. I’m looking forward to answering these questions, so you can all get to know me a little better. Why do you feel it is important that people, and especially young people, should read more? Well there are obviously so many different types of books out there, and so many different reasons for reading. Reading fiction builds imagination, provides an escape for people from their daily lives and really puts you in the moment. All great things! Obviously I tell stories for a living, whether it’s through my acting or my music, so I’m rather biased. Building imagination is important for people, and having your mind escape from your thoughts and worries can be very therapeutic. Reading non-fiction is the most important way that we humans build knowledge in the world. We can go about our daily lives and learn as we go but if we read more, we can build on what has already been discovered and raise ourselves and others, up to a higher level in any aspect of life. My reads of choice are books on gaining awareness, understanding ourselves, the psychology of the human mind etc. Getting to know ourselves, and others is the best thing we can do for the world! My mother always used to say to me “In order to make this world a better place, we must start with ourselves.” What is your favourite book(s) and why is that? I have so many favourite books, so I’ll have to list my top 3. “A New Earth” – Eckart Tolle (it’s my bible). “Ask and it is Given” by Jerry and Esther Hicks. (first book I read that really inspired me to keep believing and asking for what I wanted) “Many Lives, Many Masters” Dr. Brian D. Weiss (one of the most incredible books I’ve ever read). It helped me through a lot of intense life stuff. Have you been reading anything recently, if so, what is it and was it a good read? I just recently finished reading “Secrets of a Millionaire Mind” by: T. Harv Eker and “The Science of Getting Rich” by: Wallace Wattles. They were incredible reads and more than just getting into the mindset of being successful, they really helped me to see parts of my life where I am stuck and how it’s related to my past and childhood. I can now release some of the things holding me back, and in turn be more successful in all aspects of my life. All actors have plenty of stories to tell, is there any good story you can share here, not told before? Hmmmm, whenever someone asks me this question, I blank out. Then after the interview comes out I think of like 10 amazing stories I could have told! I can’t think of any stories at the moment, but I’ll share this bit of info about me… Most people see me on TV playing a villain of some sort or some type of character who is strong, fierce and always in control. Though parts of my personality are very much like that, people who don’t personally know me would be surprised to know that I was actually the class clown pretty much throughout my whole life. Still, nothing has changed. I have an extremely silly sense of humour, and behind closed doors, I do absolutely ridiculous things in order to make my friends and family laugh. Like things you would never think of. I used to feel very weird because of it but have now fully embraced my odd behaviours! You also do a lot for charity, care to tell me more about that? Just over a year ago, I was introduced to this incredible little organization over in Hollywood. What they were doing over there just blew me away, and I had to be a part of it. Hope Hollywood is a non-profit organization that provides help to its local community through its feeding program, holiday giveaways, and its housing and healing program, for those recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. The Manna Room is the branch of Hope that focuses primarily on providing hot, healthy meals to its surrounding homeless and underprivileged community, twice a day 5 days a week. Manna Room also supplies food to smaller non-profit organizations all over the Los Angeles area, who then distribute to their communities. Every year, Hope runs one of the largest toy drives in Los Angeles. In 2013, Hope handed out over $250,000 in toys to over 1,700 underprivileged children in one night! In addition to the Toy Drive/Giveaway and Food Programs, Hope also created a free center where those recovering from alcohol and drug addiction can come and stay and get the counseling they need to make positive changes in their lives. Those living in the recovery center are able to donate their time working in the kitchen preparing the hot meals, picking up food, helping with the toy drive, and building healthy relationships. Through this, they are able to learn to be of service, feel a sense of community, and develop a better understanding of what it means to live a life of gratitude and spirituality. I’ve been able to be a part of this wonderful community of people helping people and it’s been incredible. Can you please tell me about your music and current kickstarter campaign, to record your new album? I’m very excited about my Kickstarter campaign! I’ve been writing forever and releasing songs but this will be my first big officially released album. I’ve been placing a lot of songs in films and television shows over the past few years so it’s attracted me some wonderful new fans and introduced my film and TV fans to a whole new side of me. I’ve just launched the campaign, so I’m hoping people will believe in my music and support me in making it happen! Miranda @mirandafrigon |
