![]() Read this interview with the excellent and talented actor that is, Pat Healy. A lover of books and starring in what could well become the darkest & surrealist film of 2014 "Cheap Thrills" You have got to read this interview... I don't sell books anymore from the website. Given that up. Now concentrating of promoting books, doing lots of Q&A's (to promote books and the importance of reading), and I will also be adding various tools/advice for any 'budding' writers. If you can allow me a bit of time to pull it all together,
![]() This Q&A is with US singer and songwriter, Blare LeVoir. For an amazing insight into what he loves to read, and why, CLICK HERE or the picture! ![]() Q&A with debut writer Lauren Owen. Her novel The Quick has been getting rave reviews, and this Q&A with Lauren goes into detail about why she wrote it. Sean is currently starring as Richard Guthrie in Black Sails which is on Amazon Prime in the UK, and on the channel Starz in the US. The Shawshank Redemption was actually a short story written by Stephen King and it was originally called 'Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption' which was from a collection called 'Different Seasons' and came out in 1982. For me The Shawshank Redemption has to be the best film of all time. Why? It has everything, and then goes onto the best ending I think I have ever witnessed in any film, you will never relent from being drawn into this film if it ever happens to be showing on the TV if you are skipping channels; do try and refrain but you know you will never! The Shawshank Redemption goes the extra mile and then some, which leads me to describe my second best film which has to be The Green Mile. The film has got to be one of the most extraordinary and moving films I have seen with a storyline that although you get the idea of what the story is about in the first few minutes, it just takes you to so many different places! This Stephen King book came out in 1996 and was actually released in 6 low priced paperback volumes; to think this now makes me scratch my head, as this is the work of genius and the movie itself certainly extends that finding! The Green Mile which along with The Shawshank Redemption is set in a prison but with both having no other similarities at all, apart from being both literally and cinematic majestic creations. If you have not seen or read these 2 films/books, I can only suggest you do so, at your earliest convenience. The Boat by Clara Salaman - Intriguing, shocking, disturbing; who said boat trips were boring...31/3/2014 ![]() I had this book for a while and it was on my to-be-read pile. Whilst taking a break from reading the Den Patrick book, I browsed this book... The story was intriguing from the start and drew me in to read more and more until, I finished it! I really did get to know the characters very well due to the expertly descriptive nature used by Clara Salaman. I know this is not her first book and I did not read her first book (naughty me!) but Clara, the great actress that she is, can now classify herself as a great writer. The book had pace all the way through, never slowing and at times quite graphic but it enabled me the reader to become shocked yet addicted to finding out how the book would pan out. It really did surprise me and I wish I had read the book when I had first received it before publication. More fool me. And with the two main characters Clem and Johnny on their honeymoon, ehhh, more fool them for trusting the wrong..... (just read the book!) I know this is a short review and I don't know how many of you will be reading it as the book has already been released, don't let that put you off. I will end by saying that if you want to be surprised, shocked and addicted to a real page-turner of a gem, then look no further than this title! 8 out of 10 For a sample of this book - CLICK HERE |
