Interview by Carl Marsh - October 2014 |
Hi Lazaro,
what message would you like to send out to your fans about why they should read more? I think reading just takes you into a whole new world. When you have read, you certainly feel more knowledgeable and more confident, and it starts to open up your mind to new things. It also makes you more aware and it feeds your imagination. What is the best book you have ever read, and why is that? Wow that's hard, I've read a few. I like books that really catch my eye though. A book has to be very interesting from the beginning to the end in order for me to finish it. I like crime, science fiction, love, and biographies. The last one was a book about Selena Quintanilla. I just loved her, so I'll read anything that has to do with her. Are you reading anything at the moment? No, I've been kind of too busy, so I haven't had much time lately, which is a shame. Have you ever fancied writing a book yourself? Oh yes! My life itself, it has been and is, very much like a novel. I have so many things that have happened to me in my life, both good and bad, that you could make probably 3 movies (ha-ha),... I hope someday to be able to write my own book. I think it will inspire many. I've gone through many, many, many obstacles, and not just my stuttering, but so many more things that I’d like to share with the world. I think that will shock many people. Have you always wanted to be a singer? Yes! Ever since I was like 2 years old, my mom says I sang. With your latest music, what is it all about? Well I'm currently listening to my original songs, and then going in the studio and deciding which I like best, to release as my single. I know it's taken me a while but be patient guys, it's coming. The next 12 months, what do they hold for you? Just trying to make it as an artist but also, I think working on ‘yourself’ is very important as well. I think ‘you’ need to discover yourself to find out what makes you happy, and do that more often. I'm in this weird self discovery phase right now I guess! What has been your most memorable experience so far? Wow! I think in my personal life, just overcoming almost dying and then being able to really appreciate my family, and knowing how much they really do love me. I don't think you really know how much a Mom can love you until you're dying in a bed and they're trying to save you. In my professional life, definitely American idol and the overwhelming support from my fans knowing that I'm not alone. The Las Vegas round was a moment in time for me, in that I never will forget it. Any regrets along the way? I mean, I try not to. I think if you have regrets, it will just mess with your mind in moving forward, and it will hold you back and keep you stuck in that place. So I try not to, I try to look forward. Everything happens for a reason, and you got to have faith that the next thing coming is a greater blessing. Is there any question you would like to ask me? How long have you been doing this? Since January 2014, so not so long but I feel I am making a difference, I hope! Excellent work Carl, do keep up the good work and thanks for the interview, Lazaro @LazaroAarbos |
