I have got to start with Love Island, were you or weren't you happy by how you came across in that show, and would you have done anything differently had you the chance once again?
I was happy with how I came across, but was a bit disappointed that the public didn't really get to see the real and relaxed me. As that was my first time on TV, it all just kind of happened so I didn't have much time to settle in. Also, they didn't show much of what I did on the show. I would have probably spoken out more and done more for me, and less for what I think the show wanted... i.e. who I picked etc... So are you saying it is a regret? No it definitely isn't a regret, I try not to regret anything in life and take positives from any situation! Much has been written about you coming from a well-off background, and some people might be asking if you would still will have the same drive and motivation of someone perhaps not from a similar background, is that the case? I believe it is all an inner spirit when it come down to your dreams and your motivation for success. Of course it helps wanting to carry on what my family have done but I have also trained myself to be successful in everything I do. I think it is just an excuse if someone says they can't do something, especially due to their circumstances, anything is possible. Are you happy with the direction your career is going in? I am very happy with the direction I am going in, I've got a lot going on at the moment, I am in a very good place mentally and physically, and I have some very good people around me. They say that most people have an obsession with something, or somethings, do you? To be honest, my obsession would be in my career, and winning. I am very competitive and I will pretty much work until I physically can't, if I want to get something. What is your secret about keeping yourself healthy, both mentally and physically? I am very spiritual, I am always reading up on new quotes, new motivation techniques and I am always trying to see the positives in any situation, I like to talk to myself at any chance I get, making plans for the future, making short term plans too. This coincides with going to the gym on a daily basis alongside a good healthy diet. Do you depend on your friends to keep you on the straight and narrow, and grounded? I don't tend to hang around a lot of people, so the people I do hang around with are all on similar missions to me, but most of all, they are people who I can trust, so I would say yes, that they do. If I am doing something wrong I'd expect them all to tell me and keep me on the right path, that's then how you know if someone has all the right intentions for you. What was your first reaction when you saw yourself in the tabloids? When I saw myself in the tabloids..., it was a bit weird but I adjusted to it quite quickly. I love it, but sometimes people can get the wrong impression, but that's always going to be that way so I just let some things that people said, to just slide, and hopefully people will look at my social media, and see how I genuinely am as a person, with all the best of intentions. Having the private education that you did, did you relish it? To be honest, I was a bit naughty in school, I did listen and work but I was always a bit of a rascal. If I went back now, I would do it all differently, as I love learning and growing a lot more now! You know I have a big passion for books, is it something you do, and is there any book that you have read recently, or are planning to read next? I am always reading Carl! And one book I really want to read next is Sandcastle Kings by Rich Wilkerson, Jr. What is the most important thing you want to achieve with your life Chris? I would love to be able to give my family and future family everything that they wanted, I want to save lives and help people go through bad times, perhaps working more with charities. I also want to own my own Zoo because I love animals. Bear in mind I want animals to be in their natural habitat, maybe it's just me being a bit selfish. If you were an animal, what would it be and why? I know it's a generic answer, but I would be a lion because I like to be dominant in any situation I am in. Chris @IamChrisBaxter iamchrisbaxter.com |
